Re: The problem with Cosby *LINK*
In Response To: Re: The problem with Cosby ()

First off, a correction on your assumption about Castro's proposal: The proposal was presented to the Congressional Black Caucus during their visit to Cuba. Your government representatives made first contact. If as you say cavorting with a communist means exile or career death, I guess we can all kiss the members of the most influential Black representative organization on the planet goodbye.

Walter Fauntroy, a past and founding member of the CBC is currently on the frontlines of the effort to end the genocide in Darfur. Have you attended any of the protests at the Sudanese Embassy? Has Cosby considered lending his extraordinary influence to the cause? I doubt very much, since like the African-American poor the Black Sudanese are not members of the Black bourgeois class and probably speak broken English, if at all.

The real problem that underlies Mr. Cosby's rant is the fact that regardless of his riches and perfect English, America and the non-black world continues to judge him and his kind by those considered to be the least among us. This brings me back to my original post and the telling observation of the late Gerald Massey.

A while back, a representative of the Planned Parenthood Organization likened the conditions of the inner city to that of the canary used in mining operations. She was commenting on the increasing amounts of fatherless households. Today, more than fifty percent of American homes are without fathers. African-Americans account for +/- ten percent of the American population and not all abandon their families.

An amputee will tell you that although the limb has been lopped off the body continues to recognize it. Human beings are a microcosmic Universe and no amount of suburban flight or expensive finishing schools can change the universal law. We are our brothers keeper and although the various religious organizations and governments have failed in conveying this message. The Universe has provided us with a conscience.

The patriarchs of all modern societies have in their selfish pursuit of material goods, supplanted the greater good of all humanity. In America, the media acts as a constant reminder to Black bourgeois class. Even Anglo-America now has to deal with the influence of Eminem, the Beasty Boys, and the fact that their kids identify more with Tupac than the crown Prince of Wales. However, throughout the world Gerald Massey's observation rings true. Humanity bites back by infecting the preferred class with the same "diseases" of the neglected poor.
