Kamla: No property tax
UNC political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar last night promised to repeal Property Tax legislation introduced by the PNM government as she pledged a UNC/COP government would not levy such a tax.

At 1.05 PM today, a release from the Office of Prime Minister Patrick Manning advised President George Maxwell Richards to issue a writ of election appointing Monday, May 24, 2010, as the date of the General Election.

PRESIDENT of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (TTCIC) Angella Persad yesterday urged Prime Minister Patrick Manning to announce the date of the general election “as soon as possible” as she warned that uncertainty over the date is affecting private sector investment.
It is patently clear that the cohesive, disciplined but inept and groping-in-the-dark Manning Administration had all but collapsed under the increasing weight of his arrogant and errant ways, the secretive, non-transparent vandalisation of the public purse, astronomical exorbitantly priced politicization of the Public Service, its collision course with Trinbagonians and a concatenation of unfavourable events.
