The national geographic accounts of Africa, and the various media soundbites that focus on the negative are only a fraction of the real story of Africa.
A re-allocation of some of those funds you spend on gadgets to a few trips outside these United States could prove quite an edifying experience. I would also recommend a visit to the BBC's website for more in depth coverage of African nations and the African Continent before posting berating comments about Africa on this forum.
In years past I might have suggested copious amounts of reading material but I have grown to accept the shortened attention span of todays youth.
If Africa were so under-developed why are Europeans constantly relocating there? The same case of under-development could be made in US, for places like Florida, Texas, Georgia, your neighboring state Virginia, Iowa, The Dakotas, etc, etc. Care to suggest an explanation for these under-developed areas in the richest and most powerful nation on the Planet?
