They will quickly appreciate that Opposition Leader Keith Rowley is using as a cheap political strategy the stirring up of trivialities on Mr. Warner’s FIFA connections geared exclusively to kick-start and feather his own dwindling, discredited and deteriorating political nest. His next volley against super-Mom Kamla’s PP Government will be a racism charge.

FOUR eminent legal counsels hired by the Government have advised Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her Cabinet that Jack Warner is not breaking any law by simultaneously holding the posts of Works and Transport Minister and vice president of the world football body, FIFA.

Since May 23 — the day before the May 24 General Election — work has stopped on the controversial Lighthouse of Our Lord Jesus Christ Church in the heights of Guanapo.

Chinese workmen hired by Shanghai Construction group to build the church packed their belongings and left the job site.

San Fernando-based attorney Anand Ramolgan has been appointed Attorney General of T&T. Following the swearing-in of Kamla Persad-Bissessar as Prime Minister, Ramlogan, 37, was sworn in as a senator and made the new attorney general of the country.

“Prime Minister Patrick Manning last night conceded that State enterprise Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) may have ‘cut corners’ in order to deliver on its mandate. Manning also stated that the governance model with UDeCOTT and other special purpose and state enterprises ‘require improvements.’ He said such companies ‘cut corners all the time,’ but that this was done in order to get around bureaucracy and to meet the demands placed on them.”

When election called, I was hoping that there would have been much talk about property tax but what I am hearing is a very little. The new tax is a very worrisome proposal. I am about to finish paying my mortgage in the next two years. My wife and I working hard, let go all luxuries, saved money, cent by cent to pay up mortgage in 20 years.
