  1. GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER
MORE than 1,000 murderers are roaming free in this country, Homicide Bureau figures for the past four years have revealed. These killers are partying at the clubs, standing in line next to us and passing in front of police stations.

    Manning must act

“I didn’t hear anything. They just started chopping…They disfigured my husband’s face and almost severed his head. I could not recognise him…”

Sunday’s diabolical attack on Khemraj Chatoor brought the murder toll to 161, a staggering 76 per cent increase over the number (91) for the same period last year.

Last year’s murder toll, lest we forget, ended up at a record 392. This means that if we continue in this bloody vein the murder toll by Old Year’s Night will be 690 or 10 short of a mind-deadening 700-if we are lucky.

Luck, however, has nothing to do with it.

  2. UK: CCTV boom has failed to slash crime, say police
Massive investment in CCTV cameras to prevent crime in the UK has failed to have a significant impact, despite billions of pounds spent on the new technology, a senior police officer piloting a new database has warned. Only 3% of street robberies in London were solved using CCTV images, despite the fact that Britain has more security cameras than any other country in Europe.

  4. Young men in TnT continue to be an endangered species. Many African-originated young men are dying of person to person violence, and many Indian originated young men are dying of traffic accidents related to reckless driving.

If the tide continues, we can become a nation of women, old men, and children- the way many traumatized societies in war torn parts of the world become.

Then who will hold up the infrastructure of our society? A society needs ablebodied men as a major component in its structure. While the heavy lifting could be done by machines, men are needed to raise other young men. Tribal bonding has always taken place between three generations of the same sex, old men, robust young men, and male children.

Have we then embarked on a peculiar type of sex-oriented genocide?Societies in crisis solve some problems by the women having more than two babies. Its almost a genetic way of compensating for the wasted ones.

So, picture 2030, as a society in which there are no men in the forty to fifty age group. How will we compemnsate? One man, many wives, as already is the case in stressed societies, and arising from the same situation? Or will the law allow a woman to declare herself her own husband, and mate with whomever she wishes, as often as she wishes, just to allow the tribe called Trinbagonians to go on.
The sociological implications of this death upon death system are mind boggling.

Now it is also a fact that in former ages, societies weeded out the extra male population by sending young men to war, from which they never returned, thus shifting the power balance into the hands of older males, who had no challengers amomg the young. This precipitated crises of a different sort, since older women outlived older men, and became burdens on their children.

Perhaps this is also what is happening in the society, from top to bottom.

  5. Please send these predators to a prison and throw away the keys. Make sure their is no food. What is wrong with these animals. Crime is a punishable act to perform on someone. In Trinidad the government should implement new laws on crimes. If a person kidnapped or killed or even raped they should be put to death chambers. No iff or but. I guaranteed if this law is implemented I guaranteed Trinidad would not have too many crimes. These animals will think before they act.

Linda, I think you might of shed some light on Mr.Clevron Rapheal’s question in his article….

We see this pattern displayed on the “Lost Boys” of The (FLDS), The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints case in Texas recently.
(In order to produce sufficient numbers of young women to satisfy the sexual and reproductive needs of the older men, it is necessary to expel surplus young males after puberty. They are often referred to as the “lost boys.” They are thrown out of the group without emotional or financial support to fend for themselves. ).

Maybe we can extend this ‘trait’ to better understand the economic health of Afro-Trinbagonians in Oil/Gas rich T&T, and government’s unwillingness to address this blatant injustice.
