On July 1, I had the opportunity to visit the Prime Minister’s residence and Diplomatic Centre along with my media colleagues.

The tour was led by Armando d’Souza, the head of the household who from the onset said we would not get to see the Prime Minister’s quarters. That was for security reasons although it would have been interesting to see if the décor and design of that space could inspire a big “wow!” The media were taken from room to room while d’Souza described noteworthy features. At the Diplomatic Centre we were shown modern equipment for the use of administrative staff working at conferences or other activity held there, including a media centre for press conferences. I suppose it was envisioned TT being a hub with world leaders coming here for business on a regular basis, such a facility would be needed.
