By the time US President Donald Trump is finished with us, and here I mean the world as we know it now, our world will have changed likely to a backward civilisation, if there is anything civil about reversing progress.

I make this pronouncement boldly as a projection, not prediction, since I don’t believe in hocus-pocus. But he is deep into it and so are many of his “Jim Jones-like cultist followers”.

People tend to laugh loudly when I make such pronouncements. You see, most people in countries such as ours can be easily lulled into coma-like trances where they absorb gibberish as enunciated by self-proclaimed leaders who lead nothing, but can easily mislead many as the Pied Piper of Hamelin did.

Trump increasingly comes across as a lunatic who is under a septic spell that if it is not purged soon, he will mislead the masses into a destructive mode that could take us all back into the distant past. You think I’m joking? The man has almost gobbled global trade amounting to trillions of US dollars which are necessary in the world as we know it.

Countries must grow and/or manufacture all the foods that we eat. That is the existing trade that must take place every day to keep the world trade order in place. Billions of people, you and I and our duplicates the world over, depend on this trade for survival. They must have food, clothing, medicines, etc, that everybody uses to live their daily lives unhampered.

When Trump wakes in the morning and decides to add ridiculous tariffs to baby milk, which only the lives of the children in the US and children among God’s chosen people, the Israelis, are spared, while Gazans and Sudanese lives are lain waste, what a selectively brutal world we live in.

The naked truth about Gaza and other war-torn countries is that people like you and I…by our daily actions and activities support these mass murders, missing only ring-side seats. The stench of war, of exhaust gases from bomber aircraft on their missions to expedite the genocide, people like you and me stand with one hand in our pocket, the other with a cup to mouth, almost refereeing the one-way ticket to oblivion that is visited upon the oppressed.

Because let’s face it—we write about it, we talk about it, we post on social media about it, but we do absolutely nothing about it. And, let’s admit it, we are afraid of Benjamin Netanyahu and his cut-throat Zionists who are holding the world to ransom over their hatred and greed, two things Trump is versed in.

Simply put, the Israelis are murderers. I’ll say it because I believe in speaking out and in taking action to get things done. They are worse than the criminal element we face. And, to think that roughly 70 years ago we here in T&T supported the Jews who survived the Holocaust. I saw every movie that was made, glorifying the Israeli secret service and willing to join the hunt for Nazis hiding out here in the Caribbean to escape justice for killing a people.

I can recommend a few books and movies, The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka’s Journey. What thanks do we get for the bombing of Gaza and denying the Palestinians a homeland by the Israelis and Americans? The murder and starvation of a people, especially children. How can I ever feel comfortable even reading or looking at a movie based on their travail?

Yesterday morning I awoke to find the world was marking the 80th anniversary of the nuclear bomb explosion over Nagasaki, Japan. I felt a sense of déjà vu.

I studied World War II in great detail when I was at Sandhurst. I can recite for you how a nuclear bomb is made.

I can tell you that the Americans did not need to unleash those weapons of mass destruction on the Japanese who were on their knees at that point.

But the Americans got a free testing ground with live subjects. Between Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Americans killed hundreds of thousands of people instantly, they polluted the area with deadly radiation which would go on to claim the lives of hundreds of thousands more and further affect the lives of many births that occurred after.

We never prosecuted US President Franklin Roosevelt in the aftermath. Hitler killed six million Jews over a period of five years and we did the right thing by calling for his head. He did the right thing by taking his own life, albeit the easy way out.

Now who among today’s leaders has the guts to go after our present-day Hitlers: Trump and Netanyahu?
