The Ministry of Health has fired medical intern Dr Dhelia Gabriel who had been the subject of an investigation following her social media post in June.
She had been attached to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said that “after careful consideration of all the relevant facts and the terms of the Internship Agreement, it has officially terminated the services of Dr Dhelia Gabriel with effect from July 6, 2018.’

The woman allegedly commented, “These c**lies in this country can never change. They are the ones eating flesh and drinking blood across the land as they have no regard for the precious blood of Jesus. There is no hope for them and they shall be judged accordingly to the Holy Bible.”
An examination of this young doctor’s behavior and social media posts indicate that this is more a case of mental instability than racism.
So when did Coolie become a ‘RACIST’ word?
My understanding that the term coolie is a ‘corruption’ of a caste/name of a people, The Koli, Kohli, etc. in India, read ‘Virat Kohli’ (Indian Cricket Captain)… And it gets better… The Term literally means ‘BLACK’ (Black People) in its Euro-Asia linguistic roots…
