Man charged with raping stroke victim, 62

ViolenceA MAN appeared before the Princes Town court yesterday charged with kidnapping, raping and buggering a 62-year-old stroke victim.

Kayam Mohammed, 20, of Chaguanas, faced Senior Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan and the indictable charges laid by Constable Dickie were read.

The offences allegedly occurred in Moruga on February 12.

Sergeant Roger Richardson objected to bail for a tracing of Mohammed’s criminal background to be done.

Rambachan remanded Mohammed into custody until next Monday.
