Just want to say that though the example of Canada specifically Toronto being multicultural is very correct, there's a few factors involved.

The main reason that there's so much racial harmony is that all the different groups are allowed, tolerated and even encouraged to embrace, display and celebrate their cultures whether it be languages or arts or history. Caribana is a good example as is the Dragon Boat festival.

I know it sounds contradictory, that in having groups celebrating their own diverse culture there's a proliferation of multiculturalism but that's how it is, and it works. Example-there's actually a neighborhood where a mosque exists next to a synagogue and also further down the road is a Buddhist temple.

That's not to say there's racial tensions especially with the police but these don't involve the majority of the population and also instead of ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist steps are being taken to
deal with these tensions.
