I agree with you that the people of Trinidad and Tobago need to wake up. But i do not see the end result of them waking up as electing a new government from among the present crop of political parties. Obviously a change from the inept PNM to the corrupt UNC will not change anything. The change that is needed first needs to happen on a smaller level, and then slowly build up. In this process there is no substitute for understanding certain critical bits of history, especially how colonialism and general white/male domination has affected society.
It is only through examining these things that people can truly wake up and not only make better choices in their everyday lives, but also elect better informed leaders.
