The Attorney General Kamla Persad-Bissessar is reported to have said from a Couva political platform, "any government ministry is subject to the tendering process supervised by the Director of Contracts". She then fretted that no tender documents could be found appointing Lindquist and Hudson-Phillips to investigate anything.
I myself could not imagine all those expensive Queen's Counsels from England, or locally for that matter, tendering for State briefs, and Karl has already rapped AG Kamla for her mis-statement on "tendering".
But putting the lawyers aside, few people could have missed Kamla's profound sense of humour; for what were Lindquist and Hudson-Phillips appointed to investigate? An expenditure without tender, of $1.6 billion! Surely Kamla was just joking.
