Brian Lara is on the threshold of becoming the highest run getter in Tests after scored a fighting double hundred in the third test against Australia.
Lara helped West Indies to 352 for 7 at the end of the first day. Coming in to bat at 19 for 2, Lara spared none of the Australian bowlers.
Earlier in the day, Brett Lee wrecked the top order by taking three early wickets before Chanderpaul put up the first real partnership of the innings with Lara.
And then Dwayne Bravo chipped in with a useful 34 and a 116-run partnership.
Finally keeper Dinesh Ramdin gave Lara some support lower down the order, to help West Indies end the day in respectable fashion and Lara 12 runs short of Allan Border's world record.
