The Editor,

The Pt. Krishna Maharaj (memorial) Caroni Hindu School under the patronage of Mr. Satnarayan Maharaj, held a walk against crime through the streets of Caroni, Frederick Settlement and La Paille villages to make public, the view of the principal, staff, parents,pupils, community and Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha that we are totally against the crime which threatens our very existance. Noticably absent at this event were the various Media houses,( with the exception of the Bomb). They were apparently very busy with more important things. This aside, the pupils turned out in their numbers supported by their teachers and parents. The marchers were kept safe by the very capable officers of the Caroni Police Station who spared no pains in looking after the children. We thank them for their support. The children themselves bore signs carrying slogans against crime. It is a great pity that the public will only learn of the sentiments of our little ones from this e-mail. We wanted to show our public that we still have hope for the next generation. Our thanks to the parents, pupils and community members who participated and assisted us in successfully taking our sentiments to the streets.
