Hurricane Ivan ripped through Tobago yesterday leaving a trail of damage to property and millions of dollars in losses.
Residents of at least 14 villages, who were advised 24 hours ahead of the onslaught of the region's ninth hurricane for the year, suffered damage to the roofs of their houses.
There were also ten incidents of fallen electrical lines and trees in areas including Crooks River, Scarborough and the Roxborough Police Station.
Seas around Tobago were estimated to have waves as high as 20 metres in some areas.
Police officers were also trapped in their vehicles at Moriah in north Tobago, and there was also a threat to life and limb in Glamorgan. However, there were no reports of death or serious injury.
Power outages were being experienced up to late last night in Bon Accord, Canaan, Moriah, Patience Hill, Government House Road and Scarborough, and areas of East Tobago.
