Several of us are watching this.
The government/ the Telecommunications Authority (TATT) is aware that if ANSA McAL does not need permission from TATT to set up a television station via cable, then the opposition and others would also set up cable channels.
I doubt individual cable broadcasters had to get permission from TATT/the government to air their programs here, and given the crap on those channels the government will not be able to show why locals should not do the same. I mean, even to produce nude shows. Or is the government and/or TATT saying that only foreign media is allowed to broadcast on cable in this country without special permission.
Of course, if this opens up we may even see Trinicenter’s news and cultural channel.
