HOUSEWIVES ASSOCIATION (HATT)
A group of housewives from Arima, Tunapuna, Barataia, Port of Spain,
Diego Martin , and Caroni, met in Diego Martin on Saturday 27th
March and agreed to begin mobilisation of housewives in their own and
other areas to take action regarding rising prices among other things.
The group after some discussion agreed to
Mobilise housewives in their areas to form HATT branches, to create a
critical mass movement,
Consider their options for creating a communications media that will
allow for the voice of housewives to be heard
Arrange for a meeting with the Minister of Consumer Affairs after a
HATT General Meeting to be attended by women from all over Trinidad
and Tobago
Arrange a visit to the National Flour Mills
The HATT General Meeting has been called for Saturday 17th April
2004, at the Seminar Room on the first floor of the National Library,
Knox Street, Port of Spain, starting at 2pm and an interesting
agenda is being planned. Among the items to be discussed is a
National Forum on Food Prices and a Food Fair in August 2004.
Women from all parts of Trinidad and Tobago including former HATT
members are invited.
