Private hospital: Don't blame us for NICU infection
Officials at a private hospital are denying that the cause of an infection that led to the deaths of seven infants at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)at the Port-of-Spain Maternity Department stemmed from them.

Guardian Media visited Sanjivani Women's Hospital yesterday and spoke with an official who said none of the infants who died between April 4 to 9, as claimed by the North West Regional Health Authority were ever at the hospital or carded to be delivered at the institution.

A 42-year-old registered nurse who lost her baby at the Port-of-Spain Maternity Department's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) says the death of her child has dashed all hopes of her becoming a mother.

The nurse, who also works at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, detailed what she called the "hoggish and unprofessional behaviour of some members of staff" even towards one of their own colleagues.

Josh-El finally writes SEA exam
Josh-El wrote the exam at the Avocat Vedic Primary in Fyzabad while sitting in his wheelchair. Due to the tissue injuries he suffered to his left leg when he was knocked down by a vehicle along the Main Road in Vance River while on his way to school, he was unable to sit the SEA exam with his classmates on March 21.
