NIF reports $600m increase
The NIF is a company created by the Government to hold assets received as proceeds from shareholding of assets of CLICO, CIB and TGU owned by the government, arising out of a bailout of CLICO and CIB in 2009 and 2011.
Government decided to float the bond in the effort to raise $4 billion, from July 12-August 9. A second NIF offering, called NIF 2, launched in January this year, was oversubscribed by 267 per cent.

THE ALL Tobago Fisherfolk Association (ATFA) is expected to present to THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine by April 10, a detailed report of the losses incurred by fishermen owing to the effects of the oil spill.

$3,300 for round trip on new fast ferry between Venezuela, T&T
The new vessel, named the Playa Patanemo, made its maiden voyage to this country last Wednesday. The price of a round trip between Chaguaramas to Güiria in eastern Venezuela is TT$3,300. A one way trip is TT$1,650. The trip to Chaguaramas lasted two and a half hours and the vessel returned to Güiria the following day.
