PROPERTY TAX FIASCO
WHEN taxpayers arrived at Board of Inland Revenue offices yesterday to fulfil their tax obligations, they were shocked to be greeted with a notice announcing the immediate suspension of property tax payments.

Issued to MPs around 5.30 pm on Thursday, it proposed that the residential property tax be reduced from three to two per cent and includes a section that would extend the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR's) deadline to issue notices of assessment to June 30 for this year only.
