The People's Republic of China promised greater collaboration and cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean during a press conference at the second session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing on March 7.

Holy month of Ramadan begins Monday

Lawyer killed in car crash while exercising
Police said Davidson, 69, of Sobrian Street, was walking along Gambal Street. As he reached the Siparia Pentecostal Church, a purple Nissan Laurel driven by a 63-year-old Fyzabad man struck him from behind. The impact threw him several metres forward, causing severe injuries.

Fyzabad businessman shot at
Businessman Gerard Matadeen, 41 of Crest Camp, Fyzabad, reported to the police that around 7.05 pm on Saturday, he was closing his business place, D Bone Cargo Services Supermarket, located at 50 SS Erin Main Road, Palo Seco, when he was approached by two men, both wearing cream-coloured coveralls.

Mechanic Shot Dead
At the time of the incident, police said Abdool was sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle that was parked in his yard when a gunman entered the property, shot Abdool dead, before escaping in a white Mitsubishi Lancer car.

Abdool's death has taken the country's murder toll for the year so far to 103, compared to 112 for the corresponding period last year.
