PM not satisfied by anti-crime gains
The results of crime prevention plans and strategies by the National Security Council (NSC), the police and the wider security services have not been satisfactory but the country remains focused on getting better results.

One-year-old dies after being run over by car
Police reported that around 10:36 pm, the driver—who is from Bellamy Street, Cocorite Road—reported to police that he and the child's father, Wyatt Stephen, were liming with others at River Road, when he left to head home.

Police said the driver was chatting with Stephen when he pulled off and said he felt like he hit something. When the men checked, they realised that the toddler had been run over.

John, 35, of Pashley Street, Laventille, was found lying in a grassy area off the northern side of the Beetham Highway around 6 am on December 27.

The mother of two, who was employed at NP as a cleaner, was reportedly on her way to work at the time.

Passersby who stumbled upon John's body contacted the Emergency Health Services, but attendants were unable to revive her.

2 dead, 2 wounded in Arima – MOM KILLED WITH CHILD IN LAP
The gruesome attack occurred around 9.30 pm in a wooden shack at Zone Eight, Mt Zion Road, Arima. Dead are Amy Walcott, 21, who was nine-months pregnant and 16-year-old Roshan Ali, a student of Valencia High School. Ali was a friend of the family who was visiting for a lime at the time. While Walcott died at the scene, Ali succumbed to his injuries while being treated at Arima Hospital.

2 men gunned down in Diego Martin
Eyewitnesses said the group was liming in front a house at Andrew Drive when a car pulled up and three men exited.

The men began shooting indiscriminately at the group before jumping back into the car which sped off.

Man murdered in Goldsborough, Tobago
Details are still coming in, but Guardian Media understands the victim is believed to be 37-year-old Clifford Ramsook, who worked at Goldsborough Development as a charger.
