TEACHERS BACK-PAY IN BANK ON TUESDAY - DECEMBER 19

Education Ministry: Most teachers get back pay on Tuesday
"The Ministry of Education advises that 11,540 (90 per cent) of active, eligible teachers across Trinidad and Tobago will receive their backpay with December 2023 salaries tomorrow, December 19.

"Payment for the remaining 10 per cent of active teachers will continue to be processed and is estimated to be completed by December 31."

Govt, Laventille honour former MP, Morris Marshall
Morris Eustace Marshall was a MP for Laventille and one of three members of the People's National Movement to win their seats after the 1986 general elections that were won by the National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR). Marshall represented Port of Spain East, then Laventille West in Parliament from 1987 til his death on March 13, 1994.

A police report said Wendell Walker, aka Jamal/Jango, 47, of Paradise Heights Morvant, was driving his Mercedes Benz AMG C200 east along the Audrey Jeffers Highway when a grey Mazda 6 exited from Independence Square and blocked his vehicle near the terminal.
