The PNM kept the Diego Martin, Port of Spain, San Juan/Laventille, Tunapuna/Piarco, Arima, Port Fortin and San Fernando corporations, while the UNC retained Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo, Mayaro/Rio Claro, Penal/Debe, Princes Town, Siparia, Sangre Grande and Chaguanas.

Wife of late chutney icon dies at 80
THE wife of the late chutney icon, Sundar Popo, passed away on Sunday.

Keyso Popo, aged 80, died at the San Fernando General Hospital after a brief illness.

Popo was said to be the "backbone" of her husband's career and continued to celebrate him even after his death in 2000.

Chinese businessman charged for San Fernando meth lab
A 32 year-old Chinese businessman is expected to appear before a San Fernando magistrate on Tuesday charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of an apparatus.

He was arrested last Thursday, when Special Branch officers executed a search at The Residences, South Park, San Fernando.

Dispute ends in deadly beating
A dispute over a cigarette led to the death of a 63-year-old man in La Romain, while a teenager was shot dead at his home in Tableland within the space of eight hours.

The victims are Deopersad Ramsaran and 18-year-old Travis Ramnath.
