Miami judge denies motion for new Piarco trial
The Miami-Dade Circuit court yesterday denied a motion by businessman Steve Ferguson, former government minister Brian Kuei Tung and US businessman Raul Gutierrez Jr for a new trial following the successful outcome of T&T's Piarco civil asset forfeiture case.

This was indicated in a statement from Local Government Minister Faris Al Rawi, T&T's corporate representative in the case. The State is expected to receive a final award of almost $1 billion.

Hinds receives 2021 State Partnership of the Year award
Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds MP, has been awarded the 2021 Inaugural National Guards State Partnership Program (SPP) Partnership of the Year Award, by the Adjutant General of the Delaware National Guard (DENG) Major General Michael Berry.

The DENG and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) were selected for the award out of 93 SPPs worldwide.

Headless body found in Guanapo
