615 new COVID-19 cases registered, 11 deaths mark deadliest day
Moreover, 615 new infections have been confirmed pushing the total marked locally to 14,417. However, the MoH said this reflects samples taken during a five-day period - May 7 to May 11 - and not the last 24 hours.

T&T records deadliest day of COVID
The country has recorded 55 deaths for the month, making May 2021 the deadliest month for the pandemic, averaging five deaths a day for the last eleven days. The previous record high monthly death toll occurred in September 2020, with 54 deaths reported.

Record high 9 deaths push toll to 224
The ministry reported that among the latest deaths were three elderly men, three elderly women and one middle-aged woman with comorbidities. The other two were a middle-aged man and woman who did not have any comorbidities.

AG lays pepper spray legislation in Senate

Current owners of pepper spray have 6 months to get permit
The amendment provides for permits for importation, manufacturer and production of the spray and another permit for people to have it. Each permit costs $50. It's for self-defence only. People won't be allowed to transfer or give it to others.
