In Parliament yesterday morning, during the contribution of Attorney General Faris Al Rawi, Moonilal was heard saying, "shut your stink mouth!" The Opposition Whip later said the remarks were directed at Hinds and in a media interview aired last night, he apologised.

AG: PP paid $1B in legal fees
THE STATE spent almost $1 billion in legal fees over five years in relation to dozens of State enterprises and four ministries, Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi said yesterday, as he announced a raft of measures to reform how legal matters are handled by his ministry.

ATTORNEY General Faris Al-Rawi yesterday disclosed he has instructed State attorneys to take steps to subpoena Opposition Leader Kamla Persad- Bissessar to testify in a lawsuit brought against the State, in relation to the detention of persons accused in 2011, of being involved in a plot to murder Persad-Bissessar (who was then prime minister) and high-ranking members of the People's Partnership Cabinet.
