Bush and company will continue mentioning bin Laden name alongside Saddam because they know the majority of mostly White Americans cannot make the distinction. That's no joke. There is a reason for this, which I will expand on when I am not opposing this war effort. But one thing is certain, the US government is fully aware of the ignorance of the majority of Whites in America.
I am highlighting Whites because 'minority' groups like Africans and Latinos directly experience the US government's abuses so they are rightly distrustful of them. Whites are the Majority and it is they who the government targets with their propaganda. The US system gives the impression of favoring Whites and many Whites believe this and that is the real illusion. (Rather silly given the fact that it is only a few White Males that control and 'profit' from the system. The majority of Whites are poor.)
The government knows their ignorance and gullibility. So apart from the many White Americans who understand the issues on the Internet there are many more who don't. The protests help highlight these alternative views but getting mass media access to explain these issues is very important.
