I would like at this time of the year to pay tribute and say thanks to a quiet, dignified son of the soil, one Mr Michael Anthony. He has written over twenty-five well researched books based on the history of Trinidad, all well documented and used in schools by generations of students and researchers. He is the foremost living and walking encyclopedia on the history of Trinidad and Tobago and an undoubted national resource. He may not have won the Nobel Prize for Literature, but in this country, he is a true Emacipator and could be deservingly rewarded as such by an Honourary Doctorate or a Trinity Cross. He is an extremely qualified candidate, for any such national award.
