Rachel Price chooses to share her opinions devoid of political correctness. Her recent ka-tang ka-tang stand-up comedy concert performance was a rare treat. It came at a time when after many days of torrential rainfall and the resultant devastation to life and property with severe economic consequences, we were in a somber mood.
Her presentation evoked hysterical laughter. The content demonstrated that we (trinbagonians) can stare at death and still find the strength to laugh. Even though her shared observations were no laughing matter, the assessments resonated well with those in attendance. However, time will tell if we as a people will come to realize that life in a democracy can at times be a painful experience.
Ms. Price was being truthful in her views though somewhat caustic, and that sense of honesty is a rare phenomenon in our land, especially by those in positions of influence. As we continue to try to build a Nation where "every race may find its equal place," her contribution to truth must be fully recognized.
