Re: Trinidad Aid worker killed in Afghanistan

Our Hearts and prays should go out for all the victims that tried to bring relief to this troubled and neglected region- especially that of our treasured citizen, 30 year old Ms. Nicole Dial.
International Non-Government Organizations ,and in particular aid workers, are often easy and convenient targets in conflicts of this nature. The unfortunate results of this type of barbarism that took place in Afghanistan will be unfortunate fallouts for the desperate and suffering people in real need of assistance.

First, most organizations might become hesitant to send their volunteers and employees into this and similar tumultuous areas. Likewise, volunteers and employees alike will hesitate to get involve and make such mammoth sacrifices, unless better returns and security assurances are given. Let us condemn the act itself, but fully recognize the dire political situation that this country and its close neighbors- especially Pakistan -experienced since 1979 as a result of the follies and or actions of two equally misguided Superpowers.
