Residents of Readymix Road in Laventille say murder victim 336 was shot with what appeared to be a high-powered rifle.
According to reports, at around 8 pm on Saturday, Kerwin Edwards, 28, was approached by two men who fired several shots at him.
Residents reportedly heard 11 shots, which killed Edwards on the spot.
An autopsy today will determine how many times Edwards was shot.
Later that night, police were called to Mentor Alley, also in Laventille, where residents also reportedly heard several shots being fired.
When they arrived, however, investigators found no one had been shot and the incident may have been someone test-firing a gun.
