Security Forces has been placed on high alert for tomorrow's opening of Parliament. Police Officers from out-lying post have been summoned into the capital. Also on full alert are the Guard and Emergency Branch, and the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment.
Basdeo Panday has advised his United National Congress followers that they should not be provoked or terrorised by the heavy security presence in the city of Port of Spain tomorrow. He urged them that "It is better to die than live in fear. It is better to die than to suffer discrimination and live as second-class people."
