As Trinidad and Tobago grapples with spiraling crime, it is apparent that the focus is primarily on the effect and not on the causes. While there is continuous talk by the citizinery, they have reacted passively in attempting to show their displeasure with the situation. However, vested interest groups have from time to time voiced their displeasure when negatively affected as a result of dwindling profits or presumed isolation when crime raises it's ugly head in their immediate midst. The fact that successive Governments have openly consorted with Criminal elements, is an indication that the citizinery is ambivalent about crime. This indifference I believe; is the primary contributor to the lawlessness that has become so pervasive in T&T. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
