One of the most important of cases in the history of Trinidad and Tobago is now playing out before the courts. I am talking about the Dhanraj Singh murder trial in which a former government minister is facing murder trial. What is significant is that the Prime Minister at the time, Basdeo Panday, was made aware of the ongoings of his Minister who had made threats to the deceased Sumarisingh. In essence it makes it more than Singh on trial so too is the Prime Minister and his party. That is why the next few weeks are important as we see exactly how much was known inside the party. It is the making of a most intriguing case that could have serious implications for the party.
