CARACAS, Sept. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Four people were killed and five others injured when Hurricane Ivan passed through Venezuela, Antonio Rivero, director of Venezuela's Civil Protection, said Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference at the headquarters of his organization, Rivero said the hurricane also left 80 people homeless in the states of Falcon, Nueva Esparta and Portuguesa.
About 46 boats were affected in coastal states, Rivero said, adding that by now, the hurricane no longer poses any danger to the Venezuelan shores, as it is far away. Enditem
