Police motto

'To Protect and Serve'- That is what they are supposed to be doing. Beat and rob is what they are really doing. If our children see that the police refuse to enforce 99% of traffic laws, every day, how are they supposed to respect law enforcement? The combination of lack of respect with little compensation has left us with a police force that is so corrupt that that they control the drug trade and dream of the big score like any common criminal. I am a foreigner with land and children born here in Trinidad. With all the crime taking place I am facing two criminal charges of 'attempted' robbery from my neighbors (squatters) after a quarrel. With the police in Trinidad money is everything. Raffique believes that the crime situation here is a matter of perception over reality. Currently in Golden Grove every prisoner is turning to Islam as a way of combatting the corrupt police. This does not bode well for any of us and it is only going to get worse because it will breed a culture that is very parasitic in nature and ignorant in practice.
