Re: How many more must die,Mr.Minister?

Once more , excellent job by this writer Ms. Brenda Maximin on highlighting what is obviously a very serious health issue that could possibly develop into a national crisis if left unchecked. There is a lot at stake, and I too can endorse the sentiments that Ministerial PR mechanisms are pointless at this stage.
Educating the population as to the precise health situation, and necessary precautionary measures that can be taken, might bear more fruitful dividends it appears. Yes, it might scare off a few timid tourists and send them running to Ocho Rios or Brazil's Rio, but one can just imagine the further negative fallouts come our Carnival season when Trinidad and Tobago is listed on global nations Tourist bulletin boards as the place to avoid at all cost due to full-scale out breaks of “dengue haemorrhagic fever.”

One cannot fault caring nationals that believe it is time for political leaders to give full priority to obviously neglected aspects of our society. We are referring to pressing health, security, and of course, economic needs of all citizens. Failure will result in not only lost of confidence of our many privileged nationals that are filled with options, but the less fortunate and regular from amongst the masses.
I would like to believe that most of our politicians can appreciate what can finally result from a fully united, disgruntled populace that come to the scary conclusion that their national and personal interests are not being met and or getting 100% attention.
Stay on track on ‘keeping them all honest,’ and fully accountable Ms. Maximin. Your positive patriotic community and national spirit is welcome news for thoes of us committed to seeing that our country is elevated to its rightful position as a true regional powerhouse , and eventually one day global important force to.
