FORMER chairman of the National Maintenance Training and Security Company (MTS), Robert Charbonne, appeared in the Port of Spain Magistrates Court yesterday on charges of issuing dishonoured cheques.

Charbonne, of 8 Palm Avenue, West Diego Martin, is the director of Worldwide Marine Services. It is alleged that in paying for services to the company he, on two occasions, issued dishonoured cheques—one valued $100,000 to AFL Steelworks Ltd, and the other of $43,000 to Sonlon Enterprises.

Charbonne was granted bail.

He was arrested on Monday night by members of the Fraud Squad which included Ag Insp John, and PCs Kiston and Denny.
