\n\u201cPan On A Higher Note\u201d with the National Steel Symphony Orchestra directed and conducted by Jessel Murray began their concert in NAPA\u2019s Lord Kitchener Aldwyn Roberts Auditorium (that the pre-concert ads seemed to insist was \u201cOrel Roberts\u201d) last week Saturday with the folksy \u201cHoe Down\u201d from Aaron Copland\u2019s ballet \u201cRodeo\u201d \u2013 an excellent choice to warm up the orchestra, that, courtesy the moving stage, was whisked into the background to accompany the Metamorphosis Dance Company\u2019s interpretation of Ray Holman\u2019s \u201cChanging Times\u201d with dancers first dressed in white, then in black going through their paces in modern dance.<\/p>\n

\nThe National Steel Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) presented Pan on a Higher Note last weekend at the National Academy of the Performing Arts (NAPA) to a very appreciative audience.
\nThe programme featured the national instrument as the accompanying music with dance, voice and piano. The 35 member group which uses the Genesis Pan (G PAN) are all trained in music and led by Kareem Brown (captain) and Jessel Murray artistic director\/conductor. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
