There is a troubling pattern in our public life: moral leaders who sound their trumpets loudly, yet hollowly choosing the easiest battles while leaving the hardest untouched.
Search for Gabriel ends: He drowned
Gabriel Nelson, 17, of George Village in Tableland, a student of St Stephen's College, disappeared while bathing at a beach on Eccles Road East in Grand Lagoon.
According to a police report, Gabriel's mother, Lakshmi Barrat, 36, told officers that Gabriel and other relatives were bathing in the water approximately feet from the shoreline.

Lecturer targeted in midnight home invasion
The 28-year-old woman told police that she was asleep in her bedroom around 2 a.m. when four men forced their way into her home. The suspects, all described as men of Spanish descent wearing dark clothing, ski masks, and gloves, were armed with a firearm and cutlasses.
