Around 12:49 a.m. on December 24, first responders from St. Joseph Police Station arrived at a residence on Nanan Street, Bamboo #1, Valsayn, following a report of a homicide. They were met by Christina Sooknanan, 40, daughter of the deceased, who explained that her sister, Anisa Madoo-Jagroop, had received a call from the suspect. During the call, the man allegedly confessed to killing his partner, Shaffina Hosein Madoo, and said he had ingested a poisonous substance.
