SINCE the February 25 tragedy in which four divers in an undersea pipeline at Pointe-a-Pierre, extensive changes have been made to the conduct of operations under the remit of the Paria Fuel Trading Company Ltd, said the company's health safety and environment (HSE) co-ordinator Paul Yearwood on Thursday.

THE Commission of Enquiry (CoE) into the Paria diving tragedy that killed four men last February debated on Thursday whether an official at the Paria Fuel Trading Comany Ltd should have intervened when LMCS staff were seemingly removed a vital plug from the ill-fated pipeline, perhaps causing the Delta P (or differential pressure) event that sucked divers into the pipeline.

Cops probe shooting of gardener at PoS Mayor's home
He said, "I got a call from one of my neighbours indicating that they heard gunshots in the area and looking out the window, they saw a guy walking down, come to my wall and jump over the wall and went into the yard and that is when the gunshots were heard and the guy ran back up the road. It turned out that my gardener, who was in the yard at the time, got hit, one to his chest and one to his hand."

Police kill two men in Champs Fleurs
Two men from Spring Valley, Mt Dor in Champs Fleurs, were killed during a police-involved shooting in the pre-dawn hours of Thursday. The men have been identified as Jerome Charles, 24, and Andrew Campbell, 21, of the same area.
