Government passes procurement bill without Opposition support
The most contentious issue with the bill was the removal of the government-to-government oversight given to the Office of the Procurement Regulator (OPR). Government MPs all argued that such a move was internationally accepted while the Opposition's contention was that politicians should not be involved in procurement of any kind.

OPR: Let procurement bill still cover international contracts
The OPR in a statement said it supported the bill except for two measures. The first concern was clause five which seeks to amend the original 2015 procurement act in section seven which covers international agreements such as government to government contracts.

$4.3 million for 436,400 face masks
He said the masks were to have been distributed by NGOs, MPs and councillors to citizens for use against the COVID-19 virus. Masks were distributed to the 14 regional corporations. He detailed suppliers' names, what they were paid and the number of masks they supplied, in figures starting from a minimum of 100 masks and upwards.
