Cops seize $6.4m in latest DSS raid
Officers of the T&T Police Service's Financial Investigations Branch (FIB) finished counting the money they seized in their second raid at the Drugs Sou-Sou headquarters in La Horquetta on Tuesday, mere hours after it was seized in an exercise that included officers of the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB).

Vendor fights off bandits
A gunman got more than he bargained for after his victim, a roadside vendor, fought back resulting in the bandit shooting himself in the leg. The injured bandit and accomplice ran off, but they, along with a third man, was subsequently arrested by the police. North East Tobago has been awarded the prestigious UNESCO Man and the Biosphere designation and is now the largest UNESCO site in the English Speaking Caribbean spanning 15 communities from Belle Garden in the east towards Moriah in the northern part of the island.

Point Fortin MP Kennedy Richards Jr said no one was authorised to rent, sell or occupy the bungalows. He said the occupants were given notice to vacate the premises some time ago. "They were illegally living there and the police came and did what they had to do. The company has all rights to take back the property. A lot of Spanish people were staying there also, I don't know if they are legally or illegally here."

Believing that it was a natural death, the pathologist began the autopsy at the San Fernando mortuary last Wednesday but stopped after he observed something suspicious and sent the body to FSC. However, reliable sources said the forensic pathologist refused to reopen the body because he felt a full autopsy was already performed.
