The irksome behaviour of the UNC

While the two major political parties are at odds over the advisories from the British Foreign Office more bulletin from other countries are being issued.

I am more than prepared to look beyond the national politicking and ask some burning questions: 1) What is the motive behind the advisory especially from America? 2) Is there a connection between that and the advisories issued about other oil exporting countries as Venezuela and Nigeria? 3) Does America give foreign aid without strings attached?

The last question can be answered by the fact that foreign aid gives the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) the right to covert political interference in other sovereign states.

A look at the foreign policy of the US will show that the international lending agencies are being used to punish debtor nations which focus on health, education and, yes, national security.

It is noteworthy that these portfolios are not self-financing and they go against the grain of what is termed by lobbyists as cost cutting initiatives. In other words it is better to use austerity measures or conditionalities.

It is also salient that the cruise ship tourism is a blow to the hotel and guest house industry in that the occupancy rate is severely affected throughout the Caribbean region.

What happened in the Lower Chamber of the Parliament during the first sitting after the 18-18 deadlock is self-evident in spite of the promise by the present Opposition to put country first. The fact that a Minister was obliged to apologise for a statement he made about an Opposition MP is indicative of the irksome behaviour of the UNC.
