Two held for Pt Fortin murder

BY RADHICA SOOKRAJ

POLICE have detained two suspects in connection with the killing of 20-year-old Rasheed Goodrich who was shot in the head in Point Fortin one week ago.

The suspects were held on Wednesday night in New Lands Village, Point Fortin, by officers of the South Western Division Task Force.

They were taken to the Point Fortin CID where both were interrogated. They were then handed over to homicide detectives in San Fernando and are expected to be put on several identification parades.

Goodrich, of Main Road, Point Fortin, died after being hit four times in the head.

His friend Gabriel Charles, 23, of Reid Road, Point Fortin, suffered a bullet wound to the neck. He spent four days at the San Fernando General hospital, before he was discharged.

Goodrich and Charles had been liming with friends at a bamboo patch at La Fortune Estate, behind the Point Fortin Junior Secondary School, when gunmen pulled up in a car, demanding money.

Officers of the Homicide Bureau and task force officers under Insp Innis Minors, Sgt Salick Jagroop and Cpl Peter Ramdeen took part in the exercise.
