Perceptions Help To Foster Crime.

In a Nation where there is little or no moral authority at the top, crime flourishes and will continue to do so until it (run away crime) becomes the norm. We are less than a half century away from the early days of our Independence and the criminal corruption that followed. "All ah we does tief."

One would have thought that as we matured as a people (leaders included) that steps would have been taken to reduce the incentives to pursue crime as a normal occupation, even at the highest levels in our government. We have failed miserably at this level.

Our failure has much to do about the examples that have been established by our Leaders and that is not to say that they all steal, it has to do with the environment that they create to accomodate their political needs. Polling places are rapidly becoming the vehicles of corruption and the ballot the instrument of choice. In essence they are all guilty as "hell."

With a manageable population of less than 1.5 million inhabitants and money being of "no problem," one would have thought that we possessed the recipe for honest, progressive and pragmatic governance, hell no! instead, we continue to re-inforce the stereotypical perception that non-white governments are indeed in-capable of socially civil and progressively honest governance.

The tragedy of this offensive, is that it is the legacy; that we will be bequeathing to the next generation. Those in our society who dare to speak out against this corrupt path that has been fostered upon us, are viewed disparagingly, even by those whose causes they champion. So, we continue to die as a result of our self-inflicted wounds as the result of having abandoned the moral fabric that was once imbeded in the character of our country. In spite of this, I and others, are not without hope.
