‘Culture in Croisee’ with Rootsman

TOP composer and calypsonian, Rootsman marks 30 years in calypso with the hosting of a concert entitled, “Culture in Croisee.” This will take place at the Croisee in San Juan on October 15 at 3.30 pm.

Rootsman received a special award from the “Hamilton Mardi Gras,” for excellence in calypso at Gore Park, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on August 12. He was honoured for his contribution to the development of calypso and was complimented for his good compositions.

He is teaming up with several other artistes for this concert. Among them are Bally, De Fosto, Crazy, Impulse, Mini Priest, Lady Wonder, Protector, Contender, Bro Resistance, Karega Mandela, Bro Mudada, King Austin, Super Blue, Versatile, Mighty Trini and others.

Rootsman is now working on some nation-building songs which he will release for the upcoming Carnival season. His concentration this year will be on “delinquent youths today.”
