Arima Senior Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes has issued an arrest warrant for popular radio disc-jockey Marinus Ayres, alias "Starchild".
Ramoo-Haynes issued the warrant on Monday, after Ayres, 38, failed to show up in court.
The San Juan father of 18 was charged with drug trafficking at Piarco International Airport on February 11, 2006.
Ayres was arrested by officers attached to the Organised Crime and Narcotics Bureau (OCNB) when 1,457-grammes of cocaine was allegedly discovered in his suitcase.
He allegedly had the cocaine concealed in several packages of curry, channa, dhal, baking powder and icing glass, in patched pockets in the inner lining of two pairs of jeans and two sweaters.
At the time of his arrest, he was attempting to board flight BW527 bound for John F Kennedy Airport in New York.
